Subscription Groups
A subscription group is a collection of messages that a user can choose to receive or unsubscribe from, based on their communication preferences. These groups are used to organize different types of communications, such as promotional messages, transactional updates, or product news, across various channels like Email, SMS, and WhatsApp. Users can manage their preferences by opting into or out of specific subscription groups, ensuring that they only receive the communications they are interested in.
Example:
A "Promotions" group might include all marketing or discount-related messages.
A "Ride Updates" group might send transactional updates related to a service, such as a ride or booking status.
Types of Subscription Group
Opt-in: Users need to manually subscribe to receive messages from the group.
Opt-out: Users are automatically subscribed but have the option to unsubscribe.
Required: Users cannot unsubscribe from the group, often used for essential communications like account updates.
Category
A category is a broader organizational structure used to group related subscription groups together for better management and user experience. Categories allow for a cleaner and more organized presentation of subscription options on the user's preference or unsubscribe page.
Example:
A category named "Product Notifications" might contain subscription groups like "Updates", "Release Announcements", and "Bug Fixes".
A category named "Promotions" could house groups like "Sales", "Holiday Offers", and "New Arrivals".
